Coach Arrives...
…And finally, our carriage has arrived! We’re very pleased to welcome Coach onto the Perfume Direct website. It’s a brand we’ve long since been excited about, and now we get to share it with you.
Although a lot of bigger fashion brands seem a far cry away from the artisanal and hand-made aesthetic that’s been re-popularised in recent years by beard adorned hipster crowds, you don’t have to go far back to see their humble roots and sheer craftsmanship. Coach was founded as a family-run workshop in a Manhattan loft in 1941 by 6 leatherworkers who made wallets by hand. The business was taken over by the Cahn family in 1950, who were savvy and sought to replicate the distinctive process of softening leather they’d noticed in baseball gloves, that took a beating over time. Coach were quickly recognised for the quality of their leather goods and have steadily grown ever since in range and reputation to become one of the world’s leading luxury brands. Not bad for a Manhattan loft, although we bet they couldn’t afford the rent if they started again now!
And what relevance is that to us?
Well, Coach produce fragrances now of course. Like all good fashion houses, Coach have their own range of delightful fragrances and at amazingly low prices, so here’s the Eau de Parfum's we have on offer and what’s so great about them:
Poppy Blossom is flirty and fun! Its top notes are deliciously fruity with strawberry, litchi and mandarin, middle notes consist of lily-of-the-valley, rose and gardenia, and its base notes include praline, vanilla and blonde woods. Poppy Blossom is an exciting and energetic perfume for all you modern ladies.
Poppy Citrine is a long-lasting, light and luminous scent; composed of fresh florals and zesty citrus. Its top notes are bergamot, mandarin and blackcurrant, middle notes include water lily, jasmine, green tea and violet, and base notes of benzoin, ambrette and cedar. Citrine is a refined, unique and calming fragrance for the more meditative moments.
Subtle, yet sensuous, Freesia is a tempting blend of delicious fruits and sweet exotic flowers. With top notes of cassis, raspberry, apricot and French macarons, middle notes of white orchard, star jasmine and Tahitian tiare flower, and a base of vanilla and musk, it sounds like a dessert you might just make room for.
Coach Poppy Wildflower is a beautifully floral fragrance. It opens with tantalizing notes of spicy pink pepper, sweet freesia and juicy mandarin, carrying into a floral bouquet of middle notes like jasmine sambac, lily-of-the valley and Iris, with the depth of earthy base notes of patchouli and cedar. It captivates like fresh cut flowers.
Floral is delicate, feminine and inspired by Coach’s signature Tea Roses. Top notes include pineapple, pink pepper and lemon, middle notes of rose, hedion and gardenia and base notes of patchouli, sandalwood and musk. Launched in 2018, this is Coach’s newest fragrance.
Coach New York is all at once oriental and metropolitan. Inspired by New York City’s chic downtown, it’s a floral and fruity fragrance. The contemporary fragrance contrasts with sparkling raspberry, pear and Turkish rose on a base of sensual suede and sandalwood. The bottle comes with Coach’s signature leather tag and would make for a perfect gift.
