However, their most distinctive fragrances are The One and The One for Men which first became available for purchase in 2006 and 2008. In 2010, the infamous movie star, Matthew McConaughey became attached to The One universe as the designers disclosed that they wanted ‘the sexiest man on the planet’ to represent them. Three years later, the legendary A-lister appeared alongside the Hollywood beauty, Scarlet Johansson, in a mini love story for a show-stopping commercial for The One and The One for Men. The black and white advert, titled ‘Street of Dreams’, was directed by Martin Scorsese and featured the two actors playing ex-lovers on the streets of New York. It exuded elegance and seduction and reflected the idea that anybody can embody this with just a spritz of the luxurious fragrance.
A Game Of Thrones Collaboration
Dolce and Gabbana have themselves described The One for Men as ‘masculine and magnetic’ and that the intense fragrance is a ‘statement of charisma and sophistication’. The designers have also defined the female version as ‘joyful, spontaneous, and full of life’. This was definitely projected in their 2017 campaign, which featured two of the most talked about celebrities – Emilia Clarke and Kit Harrington. The two adverts saw the famous faces walk through the bustling streets of Naples, Italy, dancing with street artists, sampling traditional food while conveying happiness and celebrating the charm of Italian culture. This radiated a much lighter and cheerful representation for both of the timeless scents.
With fans of Game of Thrones going through a torturous wait for the final series of the much-loved TV programme, it gave them another glimmer of their favourite stars before they reprise their roles of Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow. This commercial also gave everybody a chance to embody the fresh, charismatic and energetic depiction of the actors by purchasing the delicious perfumes.
